Creekside Lodge is located in Markleeville, a historic mountain city named after the first permanent inhabitant of the area, Jacob J. Marklee. Nestled in a small valley on the East Fork of the Carson River, it is at an elevation of 5,500 feet. It has a backdrop of the majestic 9,000 and 10,000 foot peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Formed during the silver mining boom of the 1860s, Markleeville provides access for fisherman, hikers, and hunters to thousands of mountain trails, streams, and lakes.
